The problem

What this actually feels like.

AWD is a good deal on paper. Bulk storage at a flat monthly rate per cubic foot with no Q4 surcharge, cartons and pallets shipped in straight from the port, and Amazon moving units into its fulfillment centers as they sell. For a brand boxed in by FBA restock limits it looks like the answer, and often it is.

The trouble starts after enrolment. Auto-replenishment gets switched on and left alone, so the slow SKU drips into FBA and ages there while the fast one waits upstream. Cartons arrive mixed or mislabelled and stall at receiving, now that Amazon no longer preps or labels anything for you. And nobody checks whether each SKU still clears the auto-replenishment threshold that keeps the Smart Storage discount and the FBA fee waivers, so the savings that justified the move quietly disappear.

Because AWD sits one step upstream of FBA, its mistakes surface late: as a stockout on the listing, a fee line nobody recognises, or a box count that never matched what left the factory.

What we own

Off your plate, not just advised on.

Inbound into AWD

We build the AWD shipment, confirm case-pack and carton labelling requirements with your factory or forwarder before cargo leaves origin, book your own carrier or Amazon’s partnered option, and reconcile boxes received against boxes shipped.

Auto-replenishment, tuned per SKU

Replenishment into FBA is set and reviewed SKU by SKU against real sell-through, so fulfillment centers hold the cover they need and no more. Where automation is wrong for a SKU, we run manual transfers instead and tell you why.

Fee tiers and waivers

Each SKU is tracked against the auto-replenishment share and days-of-cover thresholds that decide the Smart Storage rate and the FBA fee waivers. The ones about to fall out get fixed before Amazon’s monthly assessment, not explained after the invoice.

Where each SKU should sit

Not every SKU belongs in AWD. We decide per SKU whether upstream stock sits in AWD, goes straight to FBA, or stays at a 3PL, based on size eligibility, velocity, and what each route really costs once storage, processing, and transportation are counted.

Multi-channel distribution

If you also sell on Walmart, Shopify, TikTok Shop, or wholesale, we use AWD’s multi-channel distribution to send stock from the same pool to your 3PL or retail partners, so one inventory position serves every channel.

Discrepancies and claims

Short receipts at AWD, boxes lost inside a distribution center, and units that go missing between AWD and FBA are reconciled and claimed through Selling Partner Support inside the filing window, with the evidence attached.

Inside your account

Every area we touch, and the access it needs.

Handing over standing access to your selling account is a real decision. This is the whole list, area by area, with the permission level each one needs and why it is not more.

Amazon Warehousing and Distribution: AWD inventory, inbound shipments, and replenishment

Edit access

Creating AWD shipments, changing replenishment settings, and requesting transfers into FBA are all write actions. Editing is confined to moving inventory; we do not touch listings, prices, or promotions.

  • Create AWD inbound shipments, set carton content, and generate the box labels your factory or forwarder applies.
  • Set auto-replenishment per SKU, and switch a SKU to manual replenishment where automation is moving the wrong quantity.
  • Create replenishment orders into FBA and multi-channel distribution orders out to your 3PL or retail partners.
  • Track AWD inventory by SKU, age, and distribution center, including stock in transit between AWD and FBA.

Send to Amazon, and Manage FBA Inventory and Shipments

Edit access

Transfers out of AWD arrive as FBA shipments that need tracking to receipt, and SKUs AWD will not take still go to FBA directly through Send to Amazon.

  • Ship bulky, oversize, or otherwise AWD-ineligible SKUs straight to FBA through Send to Amazon.
  • Track AWD-to-FBA transfers through to receipt and reconcile received units against units sent.
  • Top up a fast-moving SKU directly from origin when waiting for AWD replenishment would cost a stockout.

Inventory Planning, restock limits, and FBA capacity

Edit access

Excess and aged-stock actions are write actions, and they are time-sensitive. The point of AWD is lost if the stock it feeds into FBA ages there.

  • Track FBA restock limits and capacity so AWD replenishment fits inside them.
  • Monitor each SKU’s auto-replenishment share and total days of cover, the inputs to the Smart Storage rate and the FBA fee waivers.
  • Flag aged stock in either network before it attracts a surcharge, and create removal or liquidation orders on the decision agreed with you.

Manage Your Cases

Edit access

A claim has to be filed, evidenced, and argued. AWD discrepancies need a case opened with Selling Partner Support, and the filing window is short.

  • File claims for boxes received short at AWD, with the bill of lading and carton evidence attached.
  • File claims for boxes lost or damaged inside an AWD distribution center or between AWD and FBA.
  • Dispute AWD fees billed on the wrong carton dimensions or the wrong rate tier.
  • Track every open case to resolution and report which are outstanding and what they are worth.

AWD, FBA inventory, and fee reports

View access

Reporting is read-only by nature. AWD inventory, replenishment history, and fee detail are all in reports, without touching customer records.

  • Pull AWD and FBA inventory, sell-through, and replenishment history per SKU as the input to the plan.
  • Reconcile AWD storage, processing, and transportation charges against the rate tier each SKU should be on.
  • Report total days of cover, stockout risk, and AWD cost per unit back to you every week.

What we do not ask for

  • We do not ask for access to customer-identifying order data. AWD and FBA planning runs on inventory and business reports, which carry the product and quantity fields we need without the buyer attached.
  • We do not enrol SKUs in Amazon’s managed supply chain service, or change your freight contracts, without your written sign-off. Those are commercial decisions and they are yours.
  • We do not write or edit listing copy, images, or A+ content, and we do not set or change prices.
  • We do not manage advertising campaigns, deals, or promotions. We plan the stock behind a promotion you have decided to run.
  • We do not need banking, tax, or user-permission administration on your account, and we will decline it if offered.

How access is granted, logged, and revoked is set out in full on our security page.

What you get out of it

The outcomes this is bought for.

Restock limits stop capping your growth

With the bulk of your stock upstream, FBA only needs to hold weeks of cover. That keeps you inside restock limits and FBA capacity without turning away sales.

Cheaper storage for stock that is only waiting

Units that would otherwise sit in FBA for months, or in an overflow 3PL, wait in AWD at a lower flat rate with no Q4 storage surcharge, then move to FBA as they sell.

Fewer stockouts between container arrivals

Replenishment into FBA is continuous and tuned per SKU, so a container that lands once a quarter does not become a stockout in week ten.

Discounts and waivers you actually keep

The Smart Storage rate and the FBA fee waivers are earned SKU by SKU and lost the same way. Watching the thresholds every week is what keeps the savings that justified moving into AWD.

Every box accounted for, twice

Cartons are reconciled from origin into AWD, and units from AWD into FBA. The two hand-offs are where stock goes missing, and both get checked.

One pool of stock for every channel

Multi-channel distribution lets the same AWD inventory feed FBA, your 3PL, and retail partners, so allocation is decided once instead of by whichever channel reorders first.

Month one

What you see in the first thirty days.

  • An AWD and FBA position by SKU: what sits upstream, how many days of cover each SKU holds in total, and which SKUs are paying AWD storage without earning it.
  • A check of your catalogue against current AWD size, weight, and product rules, with the SKUs that should ship direct to FBA or stay at a 3PL identified.
  • Replenishment settings reviewed per SKU, and a written list of which SKUs qualify for the Smart Storage rate and FBA fee waivers and which are about to drop out.
  • A reconciliation of recent AWD inbound shipments and AWD-to-FBA transfers, with every discrepancy filed as a case and tracked.
How access works

Yours to grant, and yours to take back.

You grant access. We never ask for your password.

Each of our operators works under their own named user on your account, created by you, with only the permissions the agreed scope needs. We will not accept a shared login, and we will not accept credentials sent over email or chat.

Permissions are set to the work, not to convenience.

We ask for edit access only where the task is a write action, and view access everywhere else. If a permission is offered that the scope does not need, we decline it. The table above is the whole list.

Every action is attributable.

Because access is per person rather than shared, the account history shows which operator did what. We keep our own access logs alongside it.

You can revoke at any time, and we hand back cleanly.

Access is yours to withdraw without notice to us. When an engagement ends we also revoke from our side, close the operator accounts, hand back the working documents, and delete the operational records we hold.

Expertise

Why we are the ones holding the keys.

  • Running Amazon supply chain operations for e-commerce brands since 2020, as Ecom Store LLC, a registered Wyoming limited liability company.
  • Our operators run AWD alongside FBA inside client accounts, from the carton labels at origin to the unit received in a fulfillment center, rather than advising on it from outside.
  • AWD and FBA inventory are tracked on A2Z ERP, our own operations platform, which connects to Amazon through the Selling Partner API.
  • AWD fee, eligibility, and replenishment changes are tracked in internal documentation that is reviewed and reissued to the operations team, because AWD’s rules have changed several times in 2026 alone.
  • We operate under Amazon's Data Protection Policy for all Selling Partner data we are given access to, with the controls published in full on our security page.

The company behind this service, our credentials, and what the brands we run operations for say about the work are set out on our testimonials page.

Proof

We publish the engagements where the numbers are ours to share, including a 3PL invoice audit that recovered $6,047. AWD adds two more places for boxes and fees to go wrong, at the distribution center and in transit to FBA, and the same line-by-line reconciliation is what catches them.

Questions

The ones we always get asked.

What is Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD)?
AWD is Amazon’s upstream bulk storage network. You ship case-packed inventory, usually palletised or as a full container, into an AWD distribution center, where it is stored at a lower monthly rate than FBA charges. AWD does not ship customer orders. It feeds your FBA fulfillment centers, automatically or on request, and through its multi-channel distribution feature it can also send stock to destinations outside Amazon.
How is AWD different from FBA?
FBA stores units close to customers and picks, packs, and ships each order. AWD holds the bulk of your stock further upstream, in cartons, and replenishes FBA as it sells. Run together, FBA only needs to hold weeks of cover rather than months, which keeps you inside restock limits and lowers FBA storage cost. We run both; the FBA side is set out on our Amazon FBA Operations page.
Can all of our SKUs go into AWD?
Not necessarily. Since July 31, 2026, US AWD accepts standard-size units only: each unit must be under 18 x 14 x 8 inches and under 20 pounds, so bulky and oversize SKUs now ship straight to FBA. Dangerous goods and some product types are excluded as well. The limits apply to the unit, not the carton, and Amazon revises them, so we check your catalogue against the current rules before anything ships.
What does AWD itself cost?
Amazon charges storage per cubic foot per month, a processing fee per box on the way in and on the way out, and a transportation fee per cubic foot to move stock into FBA. As of October 2026, US storage is $0.48 per cubic foot per month in most regions and $0.57 in the West, box processing is $1.40 each way, and there is no Q4 storage surcharge. SKUs replenished mostly through auto-replenishment can earn the Smart Storage discount, and SKUs on Amazon’s managed supply chain service a deeper one. We model this against your real carton dimensions before recommending a move.
Does AWD reduce our FBA fees?
It can. Shipments from AWD into FBA do not carry the FBA inbound placement fee, and SKUs that keep at least 70 percent of their FBA replenishment flowing through AWD auto-replenishment can qualify for waivers of the low-inventory-level fee and related FBA storage surcharges. Those waivers are earned SKU by SKU and reassessed every month, which is exactly why someone needs to watch the thresholds.
Is AWD available outside the US?
Yes. AWD started in the US and opened in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain on August 20, 2026. Fees, eligibility, and replenishment rules differ by region, so each marketplace is run on its own terms rather than copied from the US plan.
Do you need admin access to our Seller Central account?
No. Each operator works under a named user on your account with only the permissions the work needs: AWD and FBA inventory, shipments, and cases. You keep ownership and can revoke access at any time.
What does your service cost?
A fixed monthly fee, quoted against your SKU count, inbound volume, the marketplaces AWD runs in, and whether we also run FBA and your other channels. There is no commission on the storage you save or the claims we recover. The pricing page sets out exactly how the number is built.

Tell us where it hurts. We will tell you what we would take over.
