Cookies and local storage, briefly
Cookies are small text files a website places in your browser so it can remember something between visits: a login, a language, a preference. Local storage is a close cousin: a small key-value store that lives in your browser, never leaves your device on its own, and is only readable by the site that wrote it. Both are neutral tools; what matters is what a site actually puts in them.
What we actually use
One item of browser storage is strictly necessary and always present. Everything else depends on the choice you make in the consent banner.
- a2z-cookie-consent, a single local-storage key that records the choice you make in our consent banner (“accepted” or “declined”). Its only job is to stop the banner reappearing on every visit and to tell us whether analytics may load. It contains no identifier, expires only when you clear your browser data, and is never transmitted anywhere.
We set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies, and no third-party pixels. Nothing on this site follows you to other websites or builds an advertising profile.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help people and which do not. It is loaded only if you choose Accept. Until then, and forever if you choose Decline, the Google Analytics script is never requested and none of its cookies are set. Declining costs you nothing on this site.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets these cookies:
- _ga, which distinguishes one browser from another. Expires after two years.
- _ga_5FSCKX7KNQ, which holds the state of the current visit. Expires after two years.
We record which pages are viewed, which service pages get read, when someone clicks through to book a call, and when a contact form is submitted. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not send Google your name, email, company or the contents of your message, and we do not use the data for advertising or share it with advertising networks.
Changed your mind? Clear this site’s data in your browser (see below) and the banner will ask again on your next visit. Choosing Decline then removes the Google Analytics cookies and stops the script loading.
Managing cookies in your browser
You stay in control regardless of what any site sets. Every major browser lets you inspect, delete, and block cookies and site data.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site settings.
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies.
Clearing site data for a2zsupplychain.com removes the consent key described above; the banner will simply ask again on your next visit, and the site works exactly the same either way.
